Epping Forest Chamber of Commerce is an independent, non-profit organisation run by elected business people, for the benefit of local business people and the community.
Our objectives are to promote and protect the interests of our members and also to act as the channel of communication between our members and the public authorities and other bodies. We have been representing the needs and the voice of the business community in the Epping Forest District since 1948. Our members are spread throughout the Epping Forest District. We have no restrictions on who can join and our members range from one-person operations to large companies. We have members from Retailing, Banking, Media, Office Services, Travel Agencies, Construction and professional services like Accountants, Solicitors, Surveyors, Estate Agents, Financial Services etc. If you have a business in or around the Epping Forest District, you are both invited and welcome to join us.
Epping Forest Chamber of Commerce remains one of the biggest business organisations in Essex and encouragingly our membership continues to grow with considerable expansion planned for the coming year. 2008 being our 60th anniversary, has been an exciting year with a new Chairman, new Executive Committee members, a new Image and Branding for the chamber as well as a new Website. There is a hive of positive activity going on with new events, activities and developments planned for the chamber. If you would like to take part or contribute with the development please make yourself known, we can always do with a helping hand.
The day-to-day activities of the chamber are run by the Executive Committee. The committee consists of elected officers, the secretary and co-opted representatives from other organisations. The elected officers are all volunteers and are from local business. The committee meets monthly on the 2nd Monday of every month in Loughton to discuss a full agenda of topics including those raised by our members. The AGM is normally held in May where the committee members are elected for the forthcoming year.
Our events consist of a monthly Breakfast Club held in Epping on a Wednesday morning, mid month. The events are focused to provide members with useful information and advice from industry professionals and an opportunity to network on a relaxed and informal basis. Breakfasts are also designed to release you to get back to your businesses as early as possible, usually finishing by 9.30am. We also organise other social and networking events from time to time plus seminars and workshops are also planned for the future.
